Frequently asked questions

What is Crowdmuse?

Crowdmuse is a social commerce platform for creators and brands collaborating on unique, limited-edition products.

Creators and Brands can set up their storefronts, find collaborations, launch products with other creators, makers and brands, and sell directly to their audience on the Crowdmuse marketplace or via third-party partners.

How can I use Crowdmuse today?

Creators or brands who want to drop their digital and physical products can already create their product on Crowdmuse. If curation support is needed before creating a product, please send a proposal via the request form. Crowdmuse enables creators and brands to sell products with credit card and USDC on any network, with no code storefronts and customer order management.

I have an idea for what I want to do but don’t know where to start?

That’s ok! Our team can assist you in finding the right physical piece to demonstrate your work by giving our expert opinion on what would work best and access to our network of manufacturers across apparel, accessories, print, books and 3D printing objects. Book a demo and a chat with us here.

How do I calculate the number of items to sell and at what price point?

We recommend selling products on a low volume (less than 100 in some cases) or custom 1of1s to give a sense of exclusivity to your product drops and to ensure you can meet your order minimums. Usually, the physical products sold on the Crowdmuse Marketplace such as apparel, accessories, and print tend to range between $50 to $300 priced in USDC (see example product drop we did for Optimism). The price is dependent on your cost of goods (i.e. supply) which can vary on the product being produced which is then given a mark-up to reflect final retail price.

How do I price the product to cover any delivery costs if I take care of fulfillment myself?

We recommend selling products locally to avoid international delivery costs. Domestic deliveries range from $5 to $30 depending on the package, while international shipping can range from $30 to $200. To avoid losing money on a drop, please check the rates per location here, US domestic shipping or international shipping. Currently, the only way to cover delivery costs is to include costs within the price of the product. If you do want to ship internationally, make sure to look up the shipping cost per package through Fedex or other providers. Please note, Fedex and other providers have up to 80% discount on shipping once you set up a trusted or business account.

Does Crowdmuse provide physical delivery and fulfilment?

We recommend selling locally or in a market where most of your audience is located. This helps reduce cost when limiting interaction order delivery options. We do provide fulfillment and delivery for select partners and subscribers. Delivery can be requested at a higher percentage fee cost per drop. Some of our apparel suppliers can enable customer fulfillment and our fulfillment partner in Brooklyn, NYC can fulfill certain volumes to the US market.

How do I get my product verified?

Once your product is deployed, it may take up to 24 hours for the product to be verified so it shows up in the drops page. This verification is to ensure the creator, brand or merchant is real, and the product adheres to our terms and conditions policies. If your product is not verified within 24 hours, please contact gm@crowdmuse.com.

Do I need a wallet to Create a product?

Yes, we recommend setting up your wallet via metamask (rather than signing in with email), since this will make it easier to access your earnings from the drop.

How do I distribute funds after my product sells?

As a product owner or contributing creator, you will be able to click a "Distribute Funds" button on the product page once your first order is paid in crypto. Here’s a guide on how to distribute funds to your wallet, and then how to offramp your USDC to your bank account.

Please note, credit card payments made through Stripe will take 1-2 weeks to land into the product contract before you can distribute funds. By deploying a product contract and distributing funds, you are legally agreeing to ensure your customers receive your product. Please do not distribute funds if you need to hit a certain number of minimum orders, or if you can no longer ensure the successful delivery of your product. If there is any issue with distributing funds, or have questions on the amount distributed, contact gm@crowdmuse.com.

Are there any refunds on Crowdmuse?

All sales are final on Crowdmuse. While customers cannot request refunds after purchase, Crowdmuse is able to issue refunds if the merchant is not able to fulfill the product as promised.

As a collector, if you do not receive your order within the window specified, please contact gm@crowdmuse.com.

As a merchant, do not distribute funds until you can ensure successful production, fulfillment and delivery of your product. If you can no longer fulfill your product, reach out to gm@crowdmuse.com so we can refund your collectors. By deploying a product contract and distributing funds, you are legally agreeing to ensure your customers receive your product. If orders are not successful, your reputation as a merchant on Crowdmuse will be impacted and your products will not be verified.

How do I access my order inventory? How are my customers communicated with?

Product Owners can simply click ‘Download buyer details’ to access a CSV of orders for customer order management.

Customers will receive the following automated email from gm@crowdmuse.com upon purchase of a product:

Hi <Customer Name>,

Thanks for collecting <Product Name> | Type: <Size>. Your order will be shipped to the address provided:

<Customer Address>

In the meantime, head over to the Redeem page to download digital artifacts. Only accessible to the collectors of the <Product Name>.

Thank you,

Crowdmuse team
